His music is immortal: Udo Jürgens sold more than 105 million records and composed more than 1,000 songs. At the end of December 2024, ARD will honor the singer and entertainer with a major music show hosted by Michelle Hunziker and Sasha.
On the same evening, Das Erste will show the one-hour documentary “UDO!” by David Kunac and Sebastian Dehnhardt. The one-hour portrait of the artist paints a gripping psychogram of a musical genius who dedicated his life to the stage and applause - until his death. With exclusive access to the family archive, unpublished footage and audio material, Udo Jürgens' children Jenny and John, close friends and confidants talk about the breathtaking career, the restlessness and the dark side of this musician of the century.
The documentary “UDO!” is produced by Constantin Dokumentation and Final Frame on behalf of BR, NDR, SRF and ORF.
